Children participating in MIT will attain appropriate body weight changes as measured by absolute BMI. How will it be done?
- Provide reinforcement and access to fruits and vegetables, water instead of sweetened drinks, and 60 minutes of daily physical activity;
- Teachers will have access to relevant best practices and materials associated with obesity prevention;
- Parents will be provided resources and participate in activities to support their child’s healthy behaviors;
- Schools will be reinforced via media and other resources for engaging in healthy practices
Evaluation methods. To assure all participants receive feedback regarding the impact of healthy behaviors made through MIT, the program will use a pre post follow-up evaluation design. Assessment measures for the children and teachers participating in MIT, include:
- Diet and activity
- Body weight and height
- Program components
